Three generations, one counter
Cardinal Pools of Oklahoma has been the same family since 1959.
Ralph and Adleen Shipley started the company. Their children Jerry and Debbie carried it on after their parents passed, and it has continued through the next generations since. Today Elizabeth and Guy run it, out of the same shop the family has always run it from, at 6500 NW 10th St in Oklahoma City.
Sixty-seven years
How a backyard pool company became a United Aqua Group member.

Ralph and Adleen Shipley found Cardinal Pools
The company starts in Oklahoma City, building pools the way every pool on this page still gets built: on site, to fit the yard in front of it.
- 1963
United Aqua Group is founded
A network of award winning pool builders forms, eventually recognizing over 100,000 pools and spas for the highest standards in the industry. Cardinal is not part of it yet, but will be within a decade.
- 1972
Cardinal joins the Aquatech Corporation
The company joins what is now United Aqua Group. That membership is where the aquatech in the business's domain name comes from. It has never been part of the company name.
- 1986
Authorized Sundek and Jandy dealer
Cardinal becomes an authorized dealer for Sundek decorative concrete and Jandy pool equipment, standing behind both lines with parts and service ever since.

Third generation, same address
Elizabeth and Guy run Cardinal Pools of Oklahoma between them. Guy's wife Michelle oversees bookkeeping with Josie's help, and his children Justin and Ryan work here too. Over 67 years of experience, still operating out of the shop at 6500 NW 10th Street.

Elizabeth and Guy each manage areas of their own expertise. Guy’s wife Michelle oversees the bookkeeping with Josie’s assistance, and his children Justin and Ryan are also part of the team. Truly a multigenerational family business, still run out of the shop the Shipleys opened in 1959.
That is what sixty-seven years in one metro actually looks like day to day: the person who answers the phone at the counter often knows the pool you are calling about, because someone in this family built it, or has serviced it for years.
